Last updated: November 13, 2025

IMEU Policy Project (“IMEU Policy Project,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a U.S.-based advocacy organization working to advance Palestinian rights and freedom through U.S. policy.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information about you when you use our websites, online tools, and other digital properties that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Site”), as well as when you interact with us offline in ways that lead to digital records (for example, when you sign a petition at an event and we enter your information into our systems).

By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

We collect information you provide when you:

  • Sign up for email updates, SMS/text alerts, or other communications.

  • Fill out a form (such as petitions, letters to Congress, surveys, pledge forms, or volunteer sign-up forms).

  • Register for or attend an event.

  • Make a donation to us (including donations processed via ActBlue).

  • Use our advocacy tools (e.g., to send messages to elected officials).

  • Request information from us or contact us with questions.

  • Interact with our campaigns via Action Network or other platforms we use.

  • Otherwise communicate with us or engage with our Site.

The types of information we may collect include:

  • Contact information, such as your name, email address, postal address, phone number, and social media handles.

  • Demographic information, such as your ZIP code and, where you choose to provide it, other demographic details relevant to our advocacy work.

  • Donation-related information, such as the amount, date, and purpose of your contribution (payment card details are handled by our payment processors, not stored by us).

  • Your communications with us, including emails, SMS messages, and other correspondence.

  • Content you choose to submit, such as comments, stories, or responses in forms or surveys.

  • Preferences and interests you tell us about, such as issue areas that matter most to you.

1.2 Information We Collect Automatically

When you visit or use the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information about your device and how you interact with our content, including:

  • Log information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, pages viewed, referring page, exit pages, clickstream data, date/time stamps, and general location derived from IP address.

  • Device information: Device type, hardware model, operating system/version, and mobile network information.

  • Usage information: Actions you take on the Site (such as pages you visit, forms you view or submit, and links you click), as well as interactions with emails we send (such as opens and link clicks).

This information is collected using cookies, web beacons, pixels, local storage, tags, server logs, and similar technologies described in more detail below.

1.3 Information from Other Sources

We may receive information about you from:

  • Service providers and campaign tools such as Action Network (for activism, petitions, and email), ActBlue (for donations), and similar platforms.

  • Advertising and analytics partners such as Google and Meta (Facebook/Instagram), where allowed by their policies and applicable law.

  • Public or commercial data sources, including voter files and other publicly available records or lists, where permitted by law, to help us understand our supporters and communicate more effectively.

  • Coalition partners and co-sponsoring organizations, when you take action on a form, petition, or campaign that is co-branded or co-hosted and that indicates such sharing.

We may combine this information with information we collect directly from you or automatically, as described above.

2. Cookies, Tracking Technologies, and Analytics

2.1 Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Make the Site function properly.

  • Remember your preferences.

  • Understand how the Site is used.

  • Improve our content and campaigns.

  • Support measurement and optimization of our communications and digital advertising.

You can usually set your browser to refuse or delete cookies. If you disable cookies, some features of the Site may not function as intended.

2.2 Google Tag Manager and Server-Side Tracking (Stape)

We use Google Tag Manager to help manage and deploy marketing, analytics, and tracking tags on the Site.

We also utilize a server-side tracking environment provided by Stape in conjunction with Google Tag Manager. This allows us to send certain event data (such as page views, form completions, or donations) from our servers to third-party platforms (such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Meta) in a more secure and privacy-conscious way, for purposes including:

  • Measuring campaign performance and conversions.

  • Preventing fraudulent or duplicate events.

  • Improving the relevance of the content and messages we show to supporters.

Server-side tracking may process information such as IP address, user agent, activity on our sites, and hashed identifiers (like hashed email addresses) before sending them to our advertising and analytics partners.

2.3 Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site, such as which pages are most popular, how visitors find our content, and what actions they take. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your use of the Site and report trends to us.

You may use tools provided by Google to limit or opt out of certain Google Analytics tracking in your browser or on your device, subject to their availability and functionality.

2.4 Advertising and Conversion Tracking

(Google Ads, Meta Pixel, Meta Conversions API)

We may work with third-party advertising and social media partners to show ads and measure the impact of our campaigns, including:

  • Google Ads and related services.

  • Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API (for platforms such as Facebook and Instagram).

These tools allow us to:

  • Measure conversions (such as petition signatures or donations) that come from our ads or email campaigns.

  • Build and optimize audiences for ads, including “custom” and “lookalike” audiences (e.g., using hashed email addresses to match you on a platform).

  • Understand which communications are most effective and how to better reach people who care about our issues.

We may send limited data to these partners (for example, hashed email addresses, IP address, user agent, event details, and other behavioral or device information). This data is used consistent with their policies and applicable law and is not sold by us to third parties.

You can control some of how these platforms use your data by adjusting your ad preferences directly in their settings and by using industry opt-out tools for interest-based advertising.

3. Campaign, Advocacy, and Fundraising Tools

3.1 Action Network and Other Advocacy Platforms

We use Action Network and similar tools to:

  • Host petitions, pledge forms, and advocacy letters to elected officials.

  • Send email newsletters and action alerts.

  • Organize events and track RSVPs.

  • Manage supporter lists and engagement.

When you interact with our forms (including sending messages to your Members of Congress or other decision-makers), your information may be shared with:

  • IMEU Policy Project.

  • The recipients of your messages (for example, your elected officials and their staff).

  • Co-sponsoring organizations clearly listed on the specific form or campaign, where applicable.

These third parties’ use of your information is subject to their own privacy policies and practices.

3.2 ActBlue and Donations

Online donations to IMEU Policy Project may be processed by ActBlue or similar fundraising platforms. When you donate via one of these services, they collect and process your payment information on our behalf.

  • The donation-related information we receive from ActBlue may include your name, contact information, donation amount, and other details required by law.

  • Your use of ActBlue is also governed by ActBlue’s own terms and privacy policy.

  • IMEU Policy Project does not receive or store your full payment card number.

We are committed to donor privacy and handle donor data consistent with the “Donor Privacy” section below.

4. Fonts, Icons, and Accessibility Tools

4.1 Google Fonts and Font Awesome

The Site may use:

  • Google Fonts to display typography.

  • Font Awesome to display icons and graphical elements.

When your browser loads fonts or icons from these services, the providers may receive information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages visited on our Site where those resources are used. Their collection and use of this information is governed by their own policies.

4.2 UserWay Accessibility Widget

We use the UserWay accessibility widget to help make our Site more accessible and customizable for users with different needs.

The UserWay widget may use cookies or similar technologies to remember your accessibility preferences and may collect limited technical data about your visit for functionality and diagnostic purposes. That data is handled according to UserWay’s own policies.

These service providers are given access to the information they reasonably need to perform their services and are expected to use it only to carry out work on our behalf.

6.2 Coalition Partners and Co-Sponsored Campaigns

When you take action on a petition, pledge, event, or other campaign that clearly lists other organizations as partners or co-sponsors, we may share your information (such as your name, email, ZIP code, and action taken) with those partners for the purposes of that campaign and related follow-up. Their use of your information is governed by their own policies.

We do not share donors’ financial information with other organizations for their independent fundraising or marketing.

6.3 Communications with Public Officials and Targets

When you use our tools to contact Members of Congress or other public or private decision-makers:

  • If you sign petitions, we may share your name, city, state, and comments with the targets of the petition and, in some cases, with media or other stakeholders.

6.4 Legal and Protective Disclosures

We may share information if we believe in good faith that doing so is reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.

  • Enforce our Terms of Use or other agreements.

  • Protect the rights, property, or safety of IMEU Policy Project, our staff, volunteers, supporters, or others.

This may include disclosing information to regulatory bodies or election authorities if required by campaign-finance, lobbying, or similar laws.

6.5 Organizational Changes

In the event of a reorganization, merger, asset transfer, or formation of a successor entity with a similar mission, your information may be transferred as part of that process, subject to applicable law and consistent with this Privacy Policy.

6.6 Aggregated or De-Identified Data

We may share aggregated or de-identified information that does not directly identify you, for research, analytics, or reporting purposes.

7. SMS and Mobile Messaging

If you provide your mobile phone number and opt in to receive SMS/text messages from IMEU Policy Project, the following terms apply in addition to this Privacy Policy:

For help or more information, reply HELP, or contact us at contact@imeupolicyproject.org.

7.1 Handling of Mobile Data

Your mobile phone number and SMS opt-in/opt-out status are treated as sensitive personal information.

  • We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your mobile number or SMS consent to third parties for their own marketing.

  • We may share your mobile information only with vendors, consultants, and service providers who help us send and manage SMS messages and who are contractually required to use it only on our behalf (for example, SMS platform providers, telecommunications carriers, and technical vendors).

  • We may disclose your mobile information if we believe such disclosure is required by law or legal process.

  • We do not share your SMS opt-in or consent with affiliates or other campaigns for their independent use.

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except:

  1. With vendors, consultants, and other service providers who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf (and who will not use such information for their own purposes); and

8. Donor Privacy

IMEU Policy Project takes donor privacy seriously.

  • We do not share or sell a donor’s personal information—whether collected online or offline—for other organizations’ independent fundraising or marketing.

  • We do not share, sell, rent, or exchange donor email addresses or financial information with partners for their own promotional purposes.

  • Donation processing is handled by third-party processors such as ActBlue, whose own privacy and security practices apply to the payment portions of your donation.

We may be required by law to report certain donor information (such as name, address, occupation, and employer) to government agencies or make it publicly available in campaign-finance reports, where applicable. We also retain donor records as required by law and for our own accounting and recordkeeping.
